Founded with a Vision
Vedanta Peetam was founded in 2009 by Guru Shri ParthaJi, with the unwavering support of his wife, Shrimati Ramaa Ji. The journey began in a heartfelt and humble way when ParthaJi attempted to teach slokas to his then 5-year-old daughter. She made an innocent yet profound demand: she would only learn if her neighborhood friends could join her. This simple request sparked a movement that has since touched the lives of thousands of students who have learned the art of Sloka from ParthaJi.
The Dream Team Behind Vedanta Peetam
The success and growth of Vedanta Peetam are largely attributed to the dynamic partnership of ParthaJi and Ramaa Ji, often referred to as the "Dream Team" by many grateful parents. While ParthaJi dedicated himself to imparting spiritual knowledge, Ramaa Ji played a pivotal role in organizing the sloka classes, maintaining continuous communication with parents, managing schedules, and handling external interactions. Together, they have created a nurturing environment that has enriched the spiritual lives of countless children and their families.
A Deeply Rooted Tradition
ParthaJi and Ramaa Ji have made the Bay Area their home for the past 17 years, where they live with their son and daughter. They are devout practitioners of the Vaishnava Vadakalai Sampradayam of Shri Ramanujacharya, under the blessings of Acharya Sri Sri Sri Ranganatha Yatheendra Mahadeska of Ahobhila Mutt. Their commitment to their faith and their community is evident in their love for teaching children and their preference for a life centered around homemade, vedic food.
From a young age, ParthaJi was immersed in spiritual learning, initiated into Vedanta Desikar's Granthams and the 4000 Divyaprabandham by his father, Shri Venkatavaradha Swamin. At just 16, ParthaJi undertook a remarkable spiritual endeavor. When his cousin fell gravely ill, ParthaJi, having heard that reciting Madhurakaviazhvar's *Kanninun Siru Thambu* 11,000 times could help recover lost health, committed himself to this rigorous practice. Over six months, he faithfully recited the verses, approximately 60 times each day, and witnessed his cousin's miraculous recovery.
In addition to his spiritual pursuits, ParthaJi is academically accomplished, holding three majors in Mathematics, Electronics, and Computer Science. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Madras University and his Master's degree from the prestigious Madras Institute of Technology, Anna University. With over 25 years in the software industry, ParthaJi is currently a Software Architect, blending his technical expertise with a deep interest in psychology, self-realization, Itihaasa, Puranas, research in Vedanta, music, arts, and problem-solving.
ParthaJi is a respected speaker and has conducted numerous seminars and talk series on topics such as psychology, parenting, Puranas, and Vedanta, sharing his vast knowledge with the community.
Ramaa Ji's passion for music and spirituality has been a guiding force in her life. She learned Carnatic music at a young age and continues to nurture a love for connecting with others who share religious and philosophical interests. Her warmth and genuine love for people, especially children, have made her an integral part of Vedanta Peetam's success.
Academically, Ramaa Ji has a strong background in Commerce and Computer Applications, holding a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and a Master's degree in Computer Applications. Her talents extend beyond the spiritual and academic realms; she was a Tamil Nadu state player in Baseball and represented the state for several years in India.
Ramaa Ji also has a deep love for cooking and is a strong advocate for eating home-cooked, vedic meals as part of a healthy lifestyle. Her culinary skills and her dedication to nurturing both body and soul are just a few of the many qualities that endear her to the Vedanta Peetam community.
